Something More is a pretty good show. But that's not the soul reason it's KrazyKat's Movie of the Week. The reason for that is that Something More was filmed in my city of Regina, Saskacthewan, Canada. That and my ex-gf's sister's ex-fiance (got that) is an extra in the show. Not only is the acting extremely well done, the quality of the movie is great. Quite proud of my little hometown movie that went big. Here's all about Something More.

In Something More, the game's the thing -- whether it's the competition on the basketball court, or the game of love.

"The Dukes" is a community basketball team of guys in their twenties. There is Sam -- a philosopher and die-hard romantic who is consumed by his quest to find his one true love; Jim -- the lady-killer as sincere as a used car salesman; Harry -- the try-hard-guy who measures his success not by who he is, but what he has; there's Dan -- the drunk with a heart of gold; and then there's Coach Louie -- who never won anything in his life and he's going to see that "The Dukes" change all that.

Still ... in the game of life, someone's got to keep score, and in this case it's Sam. He's always at the center of it all -- offering a shoulder to cry on, a word of advice or even his futon for the night. He's the dependable one. And yet, he's the one whose feelings are quickly forgotten when there's a woman at stake. Like Kelly. She's bright, beautiful and wary of being hurt in yet another shallow affair. Sam is drawn to her like a moth to a flame, but he must learn not to try so hard.

Despite the occasional "foul", Sam and his teammates are comrades in arms -- bound not only by their dreams but also by their insights and pain. Something More is an eclectic mix of hope and desperation, fantasy and cold reality. All of it told in the often bittersweet arena that is the game of life -- which, let's face it -- is no slam dunk.
